Shed & Garage Slabs

Concrete slab poured for a shed
Concrete slabs for your shed

A solid base for shed or garage

A shed or garage is only as good as the slab it sits on. Get the foundation right and the structure stays square, dry and level for decades. Get it wrong and doors jam, floors crack and damp creeps in.

We pour reinforced shed and garage slabs across Newcastle, sized and prepared for the building that will sit on top, whether that is a garden shed, a double garage or a workshop.

The benefits

Why a concrete shed slab

Strength and stability

A reinforced slab carries the weight of the building and whatever you store or work on inside.

No rot or pests

Unlike timber or gravel bases, concrete will not rot, wash away or invite termites and vermin.

Keeps damp out

A properly formed slab lifts the floor above the ground and keeps moisture away from your gear.

Square and level

We set the slab true so your shed or garage kit goes together cleanly and the doors line up.

Our approach

Built to the building

Every shed and garage has its own footprint and hold-down requirements. We confirm the dimensions, prepare and compact the base, place reinforcement and set cast-in fixings where needed, then pour a level slab your builder can work straight off.

Step by step

How we build your slab

1

Confirm the footprint

We check the shed or garage dimensions, fixing points and access, and agree the slab spec.

2

Prepare and form

Excavate, compact and grade the base, then set the formwork square and level.

3

Reinforce and pour

Lay reinforcement, set any cast-in bolts and pour the slab, finishing it flat and true.

4

Cure and hand over

Cure the slab so it is ready for your shed, garage or workshop to be built on.

Shed slab questions

How thick should a shed or garage slab be?

A garden shed slab is often 100mm thick, while a garage or workshop that carries a vehicle steps up to 100-150mm with heavier reinforcement. We size it to your building and use.

Do I need council approval?

Approval depends on the size and location of the structure. We can pour the slab once you have the approvals your shed or garage requires, and are happy to point you in the right direction.

Can you cast in the hold-down bolts?

Yes. If your shed or garage needs cast-in fixings, we set them accurately in the wet slab so the frame bolts straight down.

Will the slab keep my shed dry?

A slab poured above ground level with correct falls keeps ground moisture out and gives you a clean, dry floor to work and store on.
